Rick was born in Gastonia NC and grew up in rural Gaston and Lincoln counties. After graduating from Gaston College, he worked at a Charlotte CPA firm for 29 years. He moved to Charlotte in 1999 and joined Bell & Associates in 2015 where he continues to do payroll and help clients maintain their books and records.
Peter began his career in Florida before moving to Charlotte and founding Bell & Associates, formerly Peter Bell, CPA, in 1984. Peter specializes in complex taxation, audit, business mergers and acquisition planning, tax planning, forensic accounting, business valuation, and consulting for accounting systems design. He serves as an expert witness on family law matters, criminal defense cases, asset tracing, and verification of revenues and incomes. In Peter’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their four dogs on Mountain Island Lake.
Anna grew up in Chicago, but her family moved to Charlotte in 1997. Anna has worked for Bell & Associates since 2005, and she wears many hats including AP, billing and a full range of administrative roles. She attended UNCC and graduated in 2001 with a degree in business management. She and her husband Doug have been married since 2004, and they have a son named Drake and a daughter named Amithyst. Their family also includes 2 dogs, 2 cats, an African Gray parrot and a bearded dragon. She currently lives in Concord, NC and enjoys cooking, hiking, volunteering at her church and traveling.
Lily is a member of the administrative team and has worked at Bell & Associates since 2017. She is a seasoned administrative professional who seeks to provide first-rate support to clients and colleagues alike while fostering a positive workplace culture. Originally from Santa Rosa, California, Lily grew up amid the vineyards and redwoods of Northern California before heading south to UC Santa Barbara, where she received a B.A. in Communications. Outside of the office, she can be found in her garden, making art, cooking, or exploring the local greenway trails. Most of all, she loves spending quality time with her fiancé and their two perfect rescue dogs, Henry and Birdie.
Hollie graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Mt. St. Mary’s University in Maryland. Her accounting experience is broad, ranging from working at Deloitte to bookkeeping work for small businesses. Hollie has called Charlotte home since 2010. She has two teens who keep her very busy as a chauffeur, but she likes to hike and garden when she has free moments.
Bob has over three decades of public accounting experience, including the last 20 at Bell & Associates. He provides clients with advice on a range of tax-related topics, such as business sales, property disposals and purchases, retirement plan transactions, and much more. He received a B.A. in accounting from Furman University and his Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Georgia. Outside of the office, Bob spends his time with his wife and two daughters at the “Ford Farm” with a menagerie of five cats, one dog, and numerous geese, ducks and chickens. He also enjoys reading, watching old movies and collecting comic books.
Taylor Fryer is a dedicated Senior Tax Accountant with a strong educational background, having graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2016. Currently pursuing both an MBA at the University of South Carolina and a CPA license credential, Taylor is committed to professional growth and excellence in the field of accounting.
Originally from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Taylor brings a passion for helping leaders expand their capabilities, driving growth within their companies and management teams. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time at the beach, playing golf, traveling, and attending live music events.
Teresa joined the firm in 2007 as an accountant. She is proficient in payroll, sales tax, bookkeeping and accounting for tax preparation. She received a B.A. in accounting from Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory NC. Teresa is originally from Hickory, NC but as a dependent daughter and dependent spouse of US Air Force veterans, she has lived in 6 different states, The Netherlands and The United Kingdom. When Teresa is not working, her interests include spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary has been at Bell & Associates for over 30 years, and she loves seeing growth and learning in her small business clients. She both celebrates their successes and coaches them in challenging times. She has worked for many years on forensic and litigation projects where sometimes facts and accuracy are hard to find. She loves the challenge of figuring out the story in messy accounting records. Mary is originally from West Virginia but has called Charlotte home since 1988. Her pack includes husband Peter and their four dogs. The dogs come to work with her every day, and Peter does too, most days. Peter and Mary love hanging out on Mountain Island Lake in their kayaks or on their pedal pontoon boat, the QM3.
Dana has been in the accounting profession for over twenty years and provides tax consulting, planning, and compliance services to businesses and individuals. Her areas of focus include tax planning for pass-through business entities and tax minimization strategies for real estate partnerships and other businesses. She extends her services to business owners and their families, assisting with family wealth planning, gifts, and trusts to reduce tax liabilities and increase wealth. Dana is a zealous advocate for her clients and will help them to stay focused on their business mission or product, while she handles their tax compliance matters. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and watching football, and spending time with her three daughters and her two new grandchildren.
Gabby has been an intern at the firm for as long as we can remember (13 or 14 years). In dog years, Gabby has worked here longer than anyone else. Any sunny patch with a blanket or cushion is a good workspace for her. She specializes in offering her belly for humans to scratch, licking hands, hypnotizing anyone who will look into her eyes, and clearing away any food morsels dropped on the floor in her proximity. Gabby spends a lot of time napping because work can be stressful for people, and she is not going to let that stop her from a good snooze. Gabby would love to see you if you come by the office, but she might be very busy with a chew toy or de-fluffing her bed.
Originally from Texas, Chase graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. in accounting. He joined the firm in 2023 as part of the accounting and auditing team. He is new to Charlotte but not to hard work, and he is dedicated to serving our clients with an emphasis on accuracy and professionalism. He works closely with clients in a variety of industries and focuses on maintaining clients’ financial health through accurate books, records, and financial analysis. Outside of helping clients with their accounting needs, Chase enjoys playing pickleball and mastering different cooking techniques. He is recently married and loves exploring Charlotte with his wife.
Katie is a Charlotte native and joined the firm in 2010. She has worn many hats over the last decade, from administrative professional to litigation support consultant to business valuator. Her primary focus is helping individuals and couples navigate complex financial issues that arise in divorce including asset tracing and asset identification for equitable distribution, income analysis, budget preparation, financial planning for after divorce, business valuation, and cryptocurrency analysis. Katie also serves as an expert witness on family law matters. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chad and their two dogs, running, and spending time at the beach.
A native of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Will graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in business administration and a Master of Accounting degree. He has over two decades of experience in public accounting helping clients with their tax compliance. He also specializes in tax planning for clients and consulting on business structure. Will heads up the audit and accounting practice at the firm. When not in the office, William can be found on the pitch watching his sons play soccer or walking his dogs around Uptown Charlotte.
After graduating from Bluefield State University with a degree in administration and accounting, Amy moved to the Charlotte area in 2018 and began her career as an accountant at Bell & Associates. As a member of our accounting team, Amy focuses on assisting clients in maintaining their accounting records efficiently and accurately throughout the year. She enjoys assisting clients with complex business portfolios and loves challenges. Amy also provides forensic and litigation support services to the firm on an ad hoc basis.
Janelle started with the firm in 2022 and is a licensed CPA. She specializes in the preparation of both individual and business tax returns and helps clients maintain accurate books and records. Janelle is originally from New Jersey. She moved to North Carolina in 2017 to attend Wingate University, where she obtained her Bachelors and Masters in Accounting. During her time at Wingate, Janelle competed on the cross-country and track and field teams. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the city, running, and being at home with her dog Apollo and cat Rocky.
